How does DocGoblin work?

Doc Goblin carries out its searches on the basis of catalogs, also known as indexes, which it creates from files supplied to it. Once cataloguing is complete, searches are fast and efficient.

When you perform a search, DocGoblin creates a score for each result. This score represents the relevance of the result to your search. In simple terms, the more your search is present in a result (a document page), the better the score.

The search engine is directly integrated into DocGoblin. Your files are not shared online, and the software does not copy them elsewhere on your computer.

If you move, delete or modify files that have already been catalogued, searches carried out after these changes may fail or be incomplete. In this case, we advise you to re-catalog the files.
